Trump Blasts Marjorie Taylor Greene as a “Rotten Apple,” Says She’s “Not America First or MAGA”

President Donald Trump torched former ally Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene on Monday, accusing the Georgia Republican of betraying the MAGA movement and spreading “very dumb” ideas following her appearance on 60 Minutes.

In a scathing post on Truth Social, Trump ripped Greene’s recent attempt to portray herself as an “America First” conservative, writing, “Marjorie is not AMERICA FIRST or MAGA, because nobody could have changed her views so fast, and her new views are those of a very dumb person.”

Trump continued, referring to Greene as “Marjorie ‘Traitor’ Brown (Green turns Brown under stress!)” and saying she “reminds me of a Rotten Apple.”

The Rift Widens

Greene had already announced her intention to resign from Congress in January, citing frustrations that “nothing ever gets better” in Washington for ordinary Americans. Her break with Trump became public weeks earlier when he formally withdrew his endorsement of her re-election, later celebrating her resignation as “great news” for the country.

Now, the feud has escalated further after Greene’s 60 Minutes interview aired Sunday night, in which she attempted to reclaim the “America First” label and criticized Trump for prioritizing foreign policy over domestic issues.

“For an ‘America First’ president, the number one focus should have been domestic policy, and it wasn’t,” Greene said during the interview. “Of course, I was critical, because those were my campaign promises.”

Greene also claimed that Trump’s public attacks had resulted in violent threats against her family.

Trump: “Too Much Work, Not Enough Time”

Trump dismissed Greene’s criticisms as the result of personal bitterness and a lack of ideological conviction.

“The only reason Marjorie ‘Traitor’ Brown went BAD is that she was JILTED by the President of the United States,” Trump wrote. “Too much work, not enough time, and her ideas are, NOW, really BAD.”

He also mocked her appearance on 60 Minutes, claiming that veteran host Lesley Stahl, whom he described as “washed up” and “Trump-hating”, used the interview to air “many really stupid statements” made by Greene.

Trump took the opportunity to again demand an apology from Stahl and the network over a previous interview in which she challenged the legitimacy of the Hunter Biden laptop story. “I hereby demand a complete and total APOLOGY… from Lesley Stahl and 60 Minutes for her incorrect and Libelous statements about Hunter’s Laptop!!!” Trump wrote.

Greene Fires Back

During her 60 Minutes appearance, Greene insisted that Trump’s online rhetoric had put her family at risk. She claimed that the subject line of a death threat aimed at her son included the phrase “Marjorie Traitor Greene”—words lifted directly from Trump’s Truth Social posts.

She also suggested other Republicans feel the same way about Trump but are too afraid to speak out.

“I think they’re terrified to step out of line and get a nasty Truth Social post on them, yes,” she said.
