Trump Calls On Netflix To Fire Susan Rice After Remarks On ‘Accountability Agenda’
President Trump on Saturday called on Netflix to remove former national security adviser Susan Rice from its board following comments she made about holding corporations and institutions accountable if Democrats return to power.
In a post on Truth Social, President Trump described Rice as “racist” and “Trump deranged,” urging the streaming giant to fire her immediately. He questioned her qualifications and asked how much she is being paid by the company.
The remarks came after Rice appeared on a podcast hosted by former U.S. Attorney Preet Bharara. During the interview, Rice warned what she described as corporate and institutional elites against aligning themselves too closely with President Trump.
Rice said that when Democrats regain power, companies, universities, media organizations, and law firms that chose to cooperate with President Trump could face investigations if they engaged in unlawful conduct. She suggested there would be what she called an accountability agenda, adding that those entities should be prepared for potential subpoenas if wrongdoing is uncovered.
She maintained that any action would be grounded in legal authority, but indicated that Democrats would not simply move on from what she characterized as harmful decisions made during President Trump’s time in office.
President Trump’s comments arrive as Netflix navigates a major proposed acquisition of Warner’s movie and television studios and HBO Max in a deal valued at 72 billion dollars. The Department of Justice has already launched a probe into whether the transaction could violate antitrust laws.
The clash underscores ongoing tensions between President Trump and prominent Democrats now serving in corporate leadership roles, as political rhetoric increasingly intersects with major business decisions.
