Trump Declares Republicans the Party of American Workers This Labor Day
President Donald Trump marked Labor Day with a bold declaration: Republicans are once again the party of working Americans. Backed by a wave of policy wins and surging economic indicators, the Trump White House touted a string of achievements aimed at empowering the middle class and restoring American industry.
In a video released by the White House, the message was clear: “President Trump is back, and so is MORE money in your pocket. Wages are SKYROCKETING, and American workers are winning BIG!”

White House spokeswoman Taylor Rogers expanded on the message, saying President Trump has reshaped the Republican Party around the working class. “President Trump believes that American workers are the heart and soul of our economy,” Rogers said. “That’s why he’s signed the largest middle-class tax cuts in history and secured nearly $10 trillion in investment to create high-paying jobs across the country. Under his leadership, Republicans are once again the proud party of the American worker.”
The administration listed key metrics showing progress: over 500,000 new jobs created since January, all net job gains attributed to native-born workers, and rising hourly wages. Prices have leveled off after years of inflation, and consumer confidence has rebounded.
Trump has also made workforce development a national priority. Nearly 2,000 new apprenticeship programs have been registered, opening new pathways for Americans to gain valuable job skills. The Department of Labor set a goal of reaching one million active apprenticeships. Special programs have been rolled out to help disabled veterans gain meaningful employment through expanded training opportunities.
The administration also pointed to the success of the recently passed One Big Beautiful Bill, which included sweeping reforms to workforce development programs. The bill also contained provisions blocking illegal immigrants from accessing job training grants and taxpayer-funded workforce resources—ensuring that those programs remain focused on helping American citizens.
At the same time, Trump’s Labor Department has undertaken a massive effort to cut red tape. A total of 63 deregulatory actions have already been finalized, aimed at reducing burdens on small businesses, encouraging entrepreneurship, and unlocking economic opportunity.
According to the White House, nearly $10 trillion in investment has been secured under Trump’s leadership—funding that officials say is a direct result of renegotiated trade deals and tough-on-China tariffs. “President Trump remade the global economic order and put America first,” the statement read. “That is why investors are betting on American workers again.”
The White House closed by emphasizing that the Republican Party is no longer the party of corporate insiders and Wall Street elites. It is, once again, the party of steelworkers, truckers, small business owners, welders, farmers, and tradesmen.
Trump’s message to voters this Labor Day: the era of globalism is over, and the American worker is back on top.
