Trump Defends Bondi, Urges MAGA Officials to End Infighting Over Epstein Controversy

President Donald Trump publicly backed Attorney General Pam Bondi on Saturday, calling for unity within his administration as tensions flared over the Justice Department’s handling of the Jeffrey Epstein case.

Trump’s remarks came in response to reports that FBI Deputy Director Dan Bongino threatened to resign if Bondi remained at the helm of the DOJ, following the department’s conclusion that there is no evidence Epstein had a client list, blackmailed officials, or was murdered.

“What’s going on with my ‘boys’ and, in some cases, ‘gals?’ They’re all going after Attorney General Pam Bondi, who is doing a FANTASTIC JOB!” Trump wrote on Truth Social. “We’re on one Team, MAGA, and I don’t like what’s happening. We have a PERFECT Administration, THE TALK OF THE WORLD, and ‘selfish people’ are trying to hurt it, all over a guy who never dies, Jeffrey Epstein.”

Trump doubled down on his support for Bondi, calling her “great” and reminding supporters of her broader mission as attorney general.

“LET PAM BONDI DO HER JOB — SHE’S GREAT!” he continued. “The 2020 Election was Rigged and Stolen, and they tried to do the same thing in 2024 — That’s what she is looking into as AG, and much more. One year ago our Country was DEAD, now it’s the ‘HOTTEST’ Country anywhere in the World. Let’s keep it that way, and not waste Time and Energy on Jeffrey Epstein, somebody that nobody cares about.”

While Trump didn’t name Bongino directly, his message followed multiple reports that the former Secret Service agent and current FBI deputy director had a private confrontation with Bondi and White House Chief of Staff Susie Wiles over the DOJ’s handling of Epstein-related files. Bongino has not commented publicly.

FBI Director Kash Patel addressed the growing speculation on Saturday as well, dismissing the “conspiracy theories” surrounding the case and reaffirming his commitment to serve in the Trump administration for as long as the president asks.

Bondi, who helped defend Trump during his first impeachment and was later appointed to lead the DOJ, has faced scrutiny after previously suggesting she had access to Epstein’s client list. She later clarified that she was referring to investigative files more broadly, not a specific list.

Despite the internal friction, the White House has continued to project confidence in its top law enforcement officials. Trump’s message makes clear he wants the matter closed — and the MAGA movement refocused on larger goals heading into the final stretch of his second term.
