Trump Hails “Easter Miracle” After U.S. Forces Rescue Downed F-15 Crew Member In Iran
President Donald Trump praised U.S. forces for a high-risk rescue mission that recovered a downed F-15 crew member inside Iran, calling the operation an “Easter Miracle.”
According to Trump, American forces carried out a complex extraction deep in hostile territory, successfully retrieving the weapons officer without suffering any casualties. He described the mission as unprecedented given the intensity of the environment and the risks involved.
The rescue followed the earlier recovery of the second crew member, who had been extracted days prior. U.S. forces had reportedly maintained contact with both airmen after their aircraft was brought down, coordinating efforts to bring them home safely.
Trump said the mission involved a large-scale deployment of military assets, including aircraft, helicopters, and special operations forces operating behind enemy lines. He emphasized the difficulty of the operation, noting that such rescues are rarely attempted under those conditions.
He credited the success to what he described as overwhelming U.S. air superiority in the region, saying the operation demonstrated the strength and precision of American military capabilities.
Iran, however, has disputed the success of the mission, comparing it to past failed U.S. operations and suggesting the rescue effort did not unfold as described.
The aircraft was reportedly downed near Iran’s western region close to the Iraqi border, marking a significant escalation in the conflict. Iranian officials had previously offered a reward for information leading to the capture of the crew members.
The rescue is expected to be detailed further in an upcoming briefing, as questions continue about how Iranian forces were able to target a U.S. fighter jet during the ongoing military campaign.
