Trump Mocks Tennessee Radical Aftyn Behn Over Nashville Hate: ‘IT’S ON TAPE’

President Donald Trump unleashed a fiery rebuke of far-left congressional candidate Aftyn Behn on Sunday, torching the Tennessee Democrat as a radical extremist with a deep disdain for the very culture she seeks to represent.

Trump’s Truth Social post was centered around a now-viral audio clip of Behn, in which she proclaims her hatred for Nashville, its cultural staples like bachelorette parties and pedal taverns, and even country music itself.

“I am asking all America First Patriots in Tennessee’s 7th Congressional District, who haven’t voted yet, to please GET OUT AND VOTE on Election Day, Tuesday, December 2nd, for a phenomenal Candidate, Matt Van Epps,” Trump wrote. “Matt is fighting against a woman who hates Christianity, will take away your guns, wants Open Borders, Transgender for everybody, men in women’s sports, and openly disdains Country music. She said all of these things precisely, and without question — IT’S ON TAPE!”

The president’s takedown comes just ahead of the closely watched special election. Trump warned that Democrats were flooding the district with cash in an attempt to steal the race, and urged voters not to sit it out. “Do not take this Race for granted,” he said. “The Radical Left Democrats are spending a fortune to beat one of the best Candidates we’ve ever had, Matt Van Epps! You can win this Election for Matt.”

Behn’s comments originally surfaced in a recording where she declared, “I hate the city, I hate the Tennessee bachelorettes, I hate pedal taverns, I hate country music, I hate all the things that make Nashville … I hate it.”

The backlash was swift — especially in a district where country music and Southern identity are deeply rooted.

Behn attempted to walk back her remarks in an awkward segment on the “Breaking Points” podcast, claiming her hatred for country music was overblown.

“So, I’m going to say something I haven’t said,” she offered. “I do not hate country music. I was conceived after a George Strait concert, so … I feel personally attacked.”

That comment did little to slow the criticism.

Behn also raised eyebrows in another resurfaced audio clip, where she described a recurring dream involving a crowded cafeteria and a bizarre declaration: “I don’t want children, I want power!”

With Trump’s full endorsement, Matt Van Epps has emerged as a leading figure in the America First movement in Tennessee. The race is seen as a litmus test for how well radical progressives like Behn can compete in a deep red district—and whether Trump’s coattails remain potent heading into 2026.

Trump made it clear: “GET OUT AND VOTE FOR MATT VAN EPPS, who has my Complete and Total Endorsement — HE WILL NEVER LET YOU DOWN!”
