Trump Puts The Heat On Pfizer: Release COVID Vaccine Data To Public ‘NOW’
President Donald Trump used Labor Day to publicly demand that Pfizer immediately release its COVID-19 vaccine data to both the Centers for Disease Control and the American public.
In a post shared on Truth Social, Trump said that Pfizer had privately shown him highly encouraging data regarding the effectiveness of its vaccine—but questioned why those figures were being kept under wraps. His push for transparency follows the abrupt firing of CDC Director Susan Monarez last week, after she clashed with Health and Human Services Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr. over the continued approval of COVID shots.
“It is very important that the Drug Companies justify the success of their various Covid Drugs,” Trump wrote. “Many people think they are a miracle that saved Millions of lives. Others disagree! With CDC being ripped apart over this question, I want the answer, and I want it NOW.”
Trump continued, “I have been shown information from Pfizer, and others, that is extraordinary, but they never seem to show those results to the public. Why not??? They go off to the next ‘hunt’ and let everyone rip themselves apart, including Bobby Kennedy Jr. and CDC, trying to figure out the success or failure of the Drug Companies Covid work.”
He added that the companies needed to show those results “NOW, to CDC and the public, and clear up this MESS, one way or the other.” Trump concluded with a nod to his first-term program: “I hope OPERATION WARP SPEED was as ‘BRILLIANT’ as many say it was. If not, we all want to know about it, and why???”
CDC Shake-Up After Vaccine Dispute
Trump’s comments came just days after the White House removed CDC Director Susan Monarez. Her dismissal followed her refusal to retract the agency’s approval of certain COVID vaccines for children and younger adults—a decision that put her at odds with Kennedy, who has been spearheading a new scientific review of vaccine safety.
In her place, HHS Deputy Director Jim O’Neil has been installed as acting CDC chief. At least four senior CDC officials reportedly resigned in protest of Monarez’s firing.
FDA Tightens COVID Shot Guidelines
The administration has since unveiled new vaccine guidance, scaling back approvals for general use. According to Kennedy, emergency use authorizations previously used to justify sweeping mandates have been rescinded. The updated policy allows for standard approval only for high-risk groups: those aged 65 and older for all major manufacturers, and a limited approval for younger age groups after consultation with medical professionals.
Kennedy said the move is part of a broader push to apply “unbiased science” to the nation’s public health decisions—particularly regarding psychiatric drugs, vaccine side effects, and how government health agencies handled the COVID pandemic response.
Trump Revives Transparency Push
Trump’s call for Pfizer to release its data reflects growing internal pressure within his administration to reevaluate the COVID vaccine narrative that dominated the early 2020s. While Operation Warp Speed remains one of Trump’s landmark pandemic-era initiatives, his recent tone has shifted to demand full accountability from pharmaceutical giants—especially as HHS and the FDA move to review past decisions with greater scrutiny.
The White House has not said whether it will take further action to compel data disclosure, but Trump’s post makes clear the expectation: the public deserves to see the full picture.
