Trump Says Iran War Nearing End As He Signals Final Phase Of Operation Epic Fury
President Donald Trump told the nation Wednesday night that U.S. military operations in Iran are approaching their final phase, with the administration expecting the conflict to wrap up within weeks.
In a primetime address, Trump said Operation Epic Fury has achieved significant progress toward its core objectives and is now entering its closing stage. He praised U.S. forces for their performance and described the campaign as highly effective in dismantling Iran’s military capabilities.
Trump projected the conflict would last another two to three weeks, emphasizing that it would remain far shorter than past wars such as Vietnam or World War II. He said the remaining operations would focus on delivering decisive blows to ensure Iran can no longer threaten U.S. interests or regional stability.
The president also addressed rising energy costs, pointing to spikes in gas prices since the conflict began. He attributed the increases to Iranian disruptions in the Strait of Hormuz and said prices would stabilize once the waterway is fully reopened.
Trump argued that Iran’s military has already been severely weakened, claiming its naval forces have been effectively eliminated and its air capabilities significantly degraded. He added that leadership structures tied to the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps have been heavily targeted.
According to the president, Iran’s ability to launch missiles and drones has been sharply reduced, with ongoing strikes aimed at weapons production facilities and launch systems.
He reiterated that preventing Iran from obtaining nuclear weapons remains a central objective of the operation, framing it as a critical national security priority.
Trump said the administration is determined to finish the mission quickly while ensuring long-term security outcomes, signaling that the coming weeks will be focused on completing the final objectives of the campaign.
