Trump Says U.S. Needs ‘Golden Dome’ Missile Defense System: ‘This Is A Very Dangerous World’

President Donald Trump has unveiled a bold new vision for American security: the creation of a U.S.-built “Golden Dome” missile defense system, modeled on Israel’s successful Iron Dome but scaled up to defend the homeland from today’s most advanced threats.

Calling the world “more dangerous than ever,” Trump emphasized that America must stay ahead of hostile actors and rogue regimes. From ballistic missiles to hypersonic weapons, the evolving threat landscape demands a next-generation shield to protect American families, infrastructure, and military assets.

The proposed Golden Dome system won’t just mimic existing technology—it will surpass it. The plan includes layered missile defense using space-based tracking, radar arrays, high-speed interceptors, and domestic production at every level. The system would be entirely made in the United States, creating thousands of new jobs and ensuring America’s defense isn’t dependent on foreign suppliers.

“This will be the most powerful defense system ever built,” Trump said during remarks in the Oval Office. “It will be made right here in America, and it will protect every inch of our great nation.”

Funding for the initiative, according to Trump, will come not from raising taxes, but by reining in wasteful government spending—specifically in areas like inflated drug costs, bureaucratic redundancy, and inefficient entitlement management. “We’ll pay for this and have money left over,” he declared.

Military leaders are already drawing comparisons to the Manhattan Project, noting the scale, ambition, and national coordination required. General Michael Guetlein of the U.S. Space Force called the project “historic,” noting that it would require public-private cooperation across every defense sector.

The Golden Dome is not just a defense measure—it’s a declaration. It signals that the United States, under President Trump’s leadership, is prepared to take proactive measures in an increasingly volatile world, rather than waiting to react after an attack.

This initiative represents a turning point in national security. While previous administrations talked about modernization, Trump is delivering it—with American workers, American technology, and a clear priority: protecting the homeland above all else.
