Trump Slams Elon Musk as ‘Train Wreck,’ Warns Third Party Bid Will Create ‘Chaos’

Donald Trump, Elon Musk

President Donald Trump didn’t hold back Sunday, blasting Elon Musk for what he called a downward spiral into political recklessness—fueled by the billionaire’s announcement of a new third party, the so-called “America Party.”

“I am saddened to watch Elon Musk go completely ‘off the rails,’ essentially becoming a TRAIN WRECK over the past five weeks,” Trump wrote on Truth Social. “He even wants to start a Third Political Party, despite the fact that they have never succeeded in the United States — The System seems not designed for them.”

Trump warned Musk’s effort would do nothing but hand power back to the flailing Democrats. “The one thing Third Parties are good for is the creation of Complete and Total DISRUPTION & CHAOS, and we have enough of that with the Radical Left Democrats, who have lost their confidence and their minds!”

The president’s criticism follows Musk’s open opposition to Trump’s signature “One Big, Beautiful Bill,” which eliminated electric vehicle mandates and gutted federal subsidies that largely benefit Musk’s business empire.

Trump reminded followers that Musk once fully endorsed him, even knowing his stance on EV mandates. “I have campaigned on this for two years… when Elon gave me his total and unquestioned Endorsement, I asked him whether or not he knew that I was going to terminate the EV Mandate… He said he had no problems with that — I was very surprised!”

But Musk’s tone shifted once his bottom line was threatened. On Saturday, Musk said the bill was packed with “a mountain of disgusting pork,” calling it unfair that oil and gas incentives remained untouched while green energy subsidies were stripped.

Trump also revealed he pulled the plug on nominating Jared Isaacman — a Musk ally and Democrat donor — to head NASA. “While I thought his friend was very good, I was surprised to learn that he was a blue blooded Democrat… I also thought it inappropriate that a very close friend of Elon, who was in the Space Business, run NASA,” Trump said.

In classic Trump fashion, he closed with a reminder of his top priority: “My Number One charge is to protect the American Public!”
