Trump Targets Top Dem Governor In Sunday Morning Scolding: ‘Stop Talking And Get To Work’
President Donald Trump took aim at Maryland Governor Wes Moore in a blistering Sunday morning post, rejecting Moore’s challenge to “walk the streets” of Maryland and accusing the Democrat of failing to address violent crime—especially in Baltimore.
“Governor Wes Moore of Maryland has asked, in a rather nasty and provocative tone, that I ‘walk the streets of Maryland’ with him,” Trump wrote on Truth Social. “I assume he is talking about out of control, crime-ridden, Baltimore?”
Trump dismissed the offer unless Moore takes meaningful action to clean up the city’s streets, claiming Moore’s crime record is poor and possibly manipulated like other Democrat-run states.

Trump Compares Moore to Newsom, Warns of Troop Deployment
Echoing recent moves in Los Angeles and Washington, D.C., Trump threatened to send federal troops to Baltimore if Moore fails to restore order.
“If Wes Moore needs help, like Gavin Newscum did in L.A., I will send in the ‘troops,’ which is being done in nearby D.C., and quickly clean up the Crime,” Trump stated. “After only one week, there is NO CRIME AND NO MURDER IN DC!”
He added, “When it is like that in Baltimore, I will proudly ‘walk the streets’ with the failing, because of Crime, Governor of Maryland.”
Baltimore Crime and Federal Funding Under Fire
Trump cited crime statistics to hammer Moore, claiming, “Baltimore is ranked the 4th WORST CITY IN THE NATION IN CRIME & MURDER.” He urged the governor to stop posturing and start governing: “Stop talking and get to work, Wes.”
The president also hinted at a reversal of federal funding decisions related to infrastructure, writing, “I gave Wes Moore a lot of money to fix his demolished bridge. I will now have to rethink that decision???”
Trump’s Broader Crime Crackdown Expands
Trump’s comments come as he intensifies federal pressure on Democrat-run cities. In addition to D.C. and Los Angeles, he has proposed similar troop deployments to Chicago, where crime remains a persistent issue.
Governor Moore, considered a rising star in Democratic circles and a possible 2028 contender, has not yet publicly responded to Trump’s post.
