Trump Warns Hamas To ‘Move Quickly’ To Release Hostages, Or ‘All Bets Will Be Off’

President Donald Trump issued a stern warning to Hamas on Saturday morning, demanding the terrorist group “move quickly” to release all remaining hostages — or face severe consequences.

“All bets will be off,” Trump posted on Truth Social, just hours after confirming a temporary halt in Israeli bombing operations. “We thank Israel for agreeing to a pause. Now Hamas must act, or there will be no more deals.”

The warning came on the heels of a joint press conference Monday where Trump and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu unveiled a 20-point roadmap designed to end the war in Gaza and begin a broader rebuilding process.

Trump’s Peace Proposal

The Trump administration’s ceasefire and reconstruction plan — negotiated with support from multiple regional partners — includes several key requirements:

  • Hamas must disarm entirely

  • All remaining Israeli hostages must be released

  • In exchange, Israel will offer:

    • Amnesty for disarmed Hamas fighters who choose to remain in Gaza or seek safe passage elsewhere

    • The release of 250 prisoners serving life sentences

    • The release of 1,700 Gazans detained after the October 7, 2023 terror attacks, including all women and children held in that context

Trump emphasized that the offer is a one-time chance to “end the catastrophe” and restore stability to the region. “We’ve provided the framework,” he said. “Now it’s on Hamas to prove they want peace.”

International Support And Pressure

Regional players, including Egypt and Qatar, have expressed support for the plan and are reportedly involved in pressuring Hamas leadership to accept the deal before the Sunday deadline.

On Friday evening, Trump delivered a clear ultimatum: if Hamas did not accept the deal by 6 p.m. Eastern Time on Sunday, “all hell” would break loose.

Shortly after that declaration, Hamas issued a vague statement signaling willingness to negotiate the release of hostages — but stopped short of agreeing to disarm, a critical pillar of Trump’s peace plan.

“In this context, the movement affirms its readiness to immediately enter into negotiations through the mediators to discuss these details,” Hamas officials said.

Standoff Over Prisoner Exchange

The disarmament issue may prove to be the final sticking point. While Hamas appears open to releasing hostages, Israel may refuse to proceed with its portion of the prisoner exchange unless the group fully complies with Trump’s demands.

Netanyahu reiterated Israel’s support for Trump’s plan in comments Saturday, adding that “military pressure brought Hamas to the table” and that “only with full disarmament can we secure a future for Israelis and Palestinians alike.”

For now, the world watches as Sunday’s deadline approaches — with peace, or devastation, hanging in the balance.
