Donald Trump Jr. Says Kirk Assassination A Sign Leftists ‘Have Lost The Debate Entirely’

Donald Trump Jr. said Friday that the assassination of Turning Point USA founder Charlie Kirk shows the left has abandoned reason and resorted to violence because it can no longer win arguments.

Speaking with Fox News host Martha MacCallum, Trump Jr. said the murder of Kirk by suspected gunman Tyler Robinson was a fascist tactic straight out of the authoritarian playbook.

“I know Charlie and I spoke about this frequently, sort of the irony of the anti-fascist these days. They seem to be taking a lot of their playbook out of the fascist, out of the browncoats,” Trump Jr. said on The Story. “If you don’t agree with someone, kill them. That seems fascist. I wish we would stop calling them Antifa. There is nothing anti about their fascist tendencies.”

Kirk, 31, was assassinated Wednesday while engaging students in debate at Utah Valley University during a TPUSA “Prove Me Wrong” event. Robinson, 22, has been arrested and charged in connection with the sniper attack.

Trump Jr. said the killing was the ultimate proof that Democrats and their allies have “lost the plot.”

“It’s almost as though they know they’ve lost the debate. So rather than lose the debate and adapt or maybe, I don’t know, wildly, come up with a better idea, or a better concept or be reasonable, implement some common sense,” Trump Jr. said. “They realize they have lost the debate entirely, so they have to resort to violence. And contrary to what we’re seeing elsewhere and online, it is not going both ways. It is going one way.”

He added that the culture of hate fueling such acts is being fomented by Democrats and their media allies. “It’s coming from those aligned with the Democrat Party. The hate has been fomented by those in the Democratic Party, and you can probably play hundreds of hours of those clips. It’s coming from the media, you know, some of them are doing a quick course correction and probably scrubbed their social media feeds for all the things they have said about Charlie, myself, my father over the last few years.”

The comments came as conservative accounts highlighted endless examples of Democrats labeling President Donald Trump and Republicans “fascists” or “threats to democracy.” DNC Chairman Ken Martin even ranted during an August meeting that the United States was a “fascist regime.”

“You can’t call someone who you disagree with or simply can’t win an argument with a Nazi, a fascist, a dictator, a greatest threat to democracy in the history of civilization, and then pretend you had nothing to do with it when the more radical wing — and there does not seem to be all that much difference to me these days — takes up arms and tries to kill those they disagree with,” Trump Jr. said.

Law enforcement officials said shell casings from the rifle allegedly used in Kirk’s assassination bore engravings tied to Antifa and left-wing movements — reinforcing the political motivations behind the attack.
