Charlie Kirk, the founder of Turning Point USA, has died at the age of 31 after being shot during a speaking event at Utah Valley University.

The shooting occurred during Kirk’s “American Comeback Tour” stop. Witnesses reported a single gunshot that struck Kirk in the neck while he was addressing the audience. Chaos unfolded as attendees fled the venue and security rushed to the scene. Kirk was transported to a nearby hospital in critical condition, but he later succumbed to his injuries.
President Donald Trump confirmed Kirk’s death in a statement:
“The Great, and even Legendary, Charlie Kirk, is dead. No one understood or had the Heart of the Youth in the United States of America better than Charlie. He was loved and admired by ALL, especially me, and now, he is no longer with us. Melania and my sympathies go out to his beautiful wife Erika, and family. Charlie, we love you!”
Kirk founded Turning Point USA in 2012 and quickly rose to national prominence. His advocacy for conservative values on college campuses made him a leading figure in the youth political movement. Kirk played a key role in energizing young voters during the 2024 election and maintained strong ties with GOP leaders.
