NASCAR Driver Dedicates Bristol Victory to Charlie Kirk: ‘This One’s for Charlie’
NASCAR Cup Series driver Christopher Bell dedicated his victory at Bristol Motor Speedway on Saturday night to conservative leader Charlie Kirk, who was assassinated earlier in the week while speaking at Utah Valley University.
Climbing out of his #20 DEWALT Toyota after the win, Bell made his tribute clear.
“It wasn’t pretty there at the end, but we got her done,” Bell told reporters. “Most importantly, this week’s obviously been a very tough week. You know, there’s a lot on our minds. This one’s for Charlie.”

Kirk, the 31-year-old co-founder of Turning Point USA and one of the most influential conservative voices of his generation, was fatally shot Wednesday by 22-year-old Tyler Robinson, who later surrendered to authorities after a two-day manhunt.
Bell’s emotional dedication adds to a wave of tributes from the world of sports.
-
Los Angeles Dodgers reliever Blake Treinen honored Kirk Friday night by wearing his name and a cross on his cap during a game against the San Francisco Giants.
-
The Chicago Cubs remembered Kirk as a lifelong fan, holding a “moment of reflection” before Friday’s matchup and calling for an end to political violence.
-
The New York Yankees were the first professional sports team to honor Kirk, holding a moment of silence ahead of their Wednesday night game against the Detroit Tigers.
-
The NFL also joined in, with Thursday night’s game between the Green Bay Packers and Washington Commanders featuring a moment of silence before kickoff. The league said it would allow individual teams to decide whether to hold similar tributes on Sunday.
Kirk’s assassination has shaken the nation, but his influence continues to reverberate far beyond politics. From MLB diamonds to NFL stadiums and now NASCAR’s biggest stage, athletes and teams are making clear that his legacy of faith, courage, and patriotism will not be forgotten.
