President Trump Jokes About Mark Cuban’s Kamala Harris Endorsement During White House Event

President Trump shared a lighthearted moment with billionaire entrepreneur Mark Cuban at the White House on Monday during a major announcement tied to the administration’s expanding TrumpRx prescription drug initiative.

The event centered around a new partnership between the Trump administration and Cuban’s company, Cost Plus Drugs, aimed at lowering prescription drug costs for Americans through direct-to-consumer pricing.

But the gathering briefly turned comedic when a reporter pointed out that Cuban had endorsed Kamala Harris during the 2024 presidential election.

“It’s pretty remarkable seeing you and Mark Cuban up there,” the reporter told President Trump. “The fact that Mark obviously endorsed Kamala Harris back in 2024.”

“Well, he made a mistake — it was a big mistake,” President Trump quickly responded, drawing laughter from the crowd gathered at the White House.

Despite the political jab, President Trump praised Cuban and emphasized the importance of the partnership, saying both men ultimately wanted to help Americans.

“He’s got a good company, he’s gonna get a lot of business with this, and I’m gonna get drugs out,” the president said.

Cuban also praised President Trump during the event and credited the administration for helping expand access to lower-cost medications through the TrumpRx platform.

“Other than you,” Cuban told the president, “I’ve been the biggest proponent of TrumpRx.gov.”

Cuban argued that lowering prescription drug costs is one of the few issues capable of uniting Republicans, Democrats, and independents alike.

“Republicans want cheaper drugs, independents want cheaper drugs, Democrats want cheaper drugs,” Cuban said. “Together, I think we’re going to do something special.”

According to Cuban, Cost Plus Drugs currently limits markups on medications to roughly 15%, significantly lower than many traditional pharmaceutical pricing models. He added that increased demand generated through the TrumpRx partnership should help lower prices even further over time.

“This is a special announcement. This is a special partnership,” Cuban said. “We’re really excited to be part of this.”

The TrumpRx initiative first launched earlier this year and initially offered discounted pricing on dozens of medications. The platform has since expanded to include more than 600 prescription drugs available directly to consumers.

Among the commonly used medications now available through the program are cholesterol drug Atorvastatin, diabetes medication Metformin, blood thinner Clopidogrel, and popular weight-loss treatments including Ozempic, Wegovy, and Zepbound.

The partnership represents one of the more unusual political-business alliances of President Trump’s second term, bringing together the Republican president and the outspoken billionaire businessman who previously backed Democratic candidates but now appears willing to collaborate with the administration on healthcare reform efforts.
