Bad Bunny Record Label Gifted Justice Sonia Sotomayor More Than $4,000 in Concert Tickets
Supreme Court Justice Sonia Sotomayor disclosed receiving more than $4,000 worth of concert tickets from Rimas Entertainment in her annual financial filing released Monday.
According to the disclosure, the tickets were valued at $4,333 and were provided by the record label for “a concert for me and guests while I was on a private trip to Puerto Rico in August 2025.”
Rimas Entertainment was founded in Puerto Rico by Noah Assad, the longtime manager of Bad Bunny, and represents several prominent Latin music artists.
The filing did not specify whether the tickets were for a Bad Bunny concert or another artist represented by the label. Bad Bunny did perform an extended series of shows in Puerto Rico throughout August 2025. Sotomayor, the first Hispanic justice on the Supreme Court, was born in the Bronx to Puerto Rican parents.
Neither Rimas Entertainment nor the Supreme Court immediately commented on the disclosure.
The revelation comes after controversy surrounding Bad Bunny’s performance during Super Bowl LX halftime festivities earlier this year, which generated complaints from some viewers over the content of the show. Despite the criticism, the performance reportedly attracted more than 128 million viewers, making it one of the most-watched halftime shows in the event’s history.
Sotomayor is not the first justice to disclose receiving entertainment gifts. In 2024, fellow Justice Ketanji Brown Jackson reported receiving nearly $4,000 in concert tickets from Beyoncé.
The annual financial disclosures provide details about gifts, investments and outside income received by members of the Supreme Court.
Among this year’s filings, Jackson reported the largest amount of outside income, including approximately $1.2 million in book advances. Justices Amy Coney Barrett and Neil Gorsuch also reported significant income from book royalties.
Justice Samuel Alito did not file his disclosure alongside the others and was granted an extension.
