President Donald Trump interacted with an online post that, baselessly, stated that replacement of former President Joe Biden with a robotic simulation had occurred. Trump has shown an interest in other unfounded stories, such as probing into Biden’s usage of autopen and enveloping himself in discredited assertions like Obama’s non-American roots.
The former President, Trump, intrigued his online following by sharing a post that stated, unbelievably, that Biden had been ‘dispatched in 2020’ and subsequently, a robotic avatar has filled the shoes of the previous President. This absurd claim stems from an anonymous poster on Truth Social and was shared by Trump on May 31, stating that ‘clones doubles & robotic engineered soulless mindless entities’ have taken the place of the past President.
To state the obvious, these ludicrous claims are untrue. Biden has not been eliminated nor replaced by a robotic surrogate. Likewise, the idea that he was cloned, as suggested in the original post on Truth Social, is completely groundless. Biden served as President from 2021-2025, not a robotic or cloned figure.
Biden chose not to reattempt for the presidency following a disastrous debate that provoked increasing concerns about his competence. Having been the oldest President in the office, his decision to withdraw is a testament to his inability to lead the country efficiently.
Interest was peaked when the White House press secretary, Karoline Leavitt, raised questions about Jill Biden’s silence on her husband’s perceived cognitive decline. Subsequently, speculations started circulating that she intentionally kept her husband’s health status a secret from the American populace. The narrative painted here shows deep-rooted conspiracies around the administration’s functioning.
Adding fuel to the fire, Biden disclosed in May that he was grappling with progressive prostate cancer. Without going into the realm of mockery, it is worth noting that despite such serious health issues, Biden managed to maintain a face of optimism regarding his treatment plan amidst a significant public role.
An interesting facet presented itself as President Trump drew attention to Biden’s questionable usage of an autopen. Immediately after assuming office, Trump made claims that some of Biden’s last-minute pardons were irrelevant since they were autopen-signed. The Justice Department allowed for autopen usage for a President’s signature since 2005.
Biden’s usage of the autopen, especially for questionable pardons for those he suspected might be at the receiving end of Trump’s political vengeance, became a hot topic. The origins of these pardons have been under the public eye, raising significant doubts on the legitimacy of said pardons.
With Biden’s health reveal, Trump amplified his unsubstantiated allegations suggesting that the autopen was used unauthorisedly for other policies. According to Trump, ‘The autopen is gonna become one of the great scandals of all time’. He further questioned who was responsible for signing policies that he believed had significantly setback the country.
While Trump conveyed that he hardly ever resorts to the autopen, he did acknowledge certain circumstances where it could be applied. This shows that Trump was not simply against Biden’s methods, but questioned the execution of them.
Trump is not new to targeting previous presidents with unfounded theories. All through the years preceding his first tenure, Trump propelled baseless claims that the former President Barack Obama was born overseas. Just two months before the election result, Trump begrudgingly conceded, for the first time publicly, that Obama was indeed born in America.
Dismissive of conspiracy theories might not be an appropriate description for Trump. He selected Robert F. Kennedy Jr., accused of disseminating vaccine-related conspiracy theories, as the Secretary of Health and Human Services during his second run and even picked Kash Patel, a known conspiracy propagator, for a key role.
Trump remained undeterred in his pursuit of unfounded theories, demonstrated by his call for releasing classified documents regarding John F Kennedy’s assassination, a notorious conspiracy theory hotspot. Interestingly, during a meeting with South African President Cyril Ramaphosa, Trump went as far as to suggest that White South African farmers were being systematically eliminated – another baseless claim.
