Elon Musk Puts Politics Aside to Refocus on Business Ventures

Elon Musk, the famed industrial magnate, has recently communicated his intention to devote more time and energy to his numerous businesses, which include Tesla, SpaceX, xAI, and X. This decision to boost his direct oversight comes as his varying commitments have been placed under the microscope. Moreover, during an open meeting, he made it clear that he has lost interest in political endeavors and does not plan to delve deeper into this field.

In recent times, internal criticism of Musk’s role has increased, with many suggesting that his influence in the prevailing government has waned due to a perceived failure to fulfill certain ambitious and highly publicized objectives. Critics have contended that his engrossment in political affairs has detracted from his principal responsibilities towards his businesses such as Tesla, X, and SpaceX, resulting in procedural difficulties and image-related risks.

As a specific instance, Tesla’s stature and sales figures, particularly in the European market, have registered a downward trend. Indicative of the company’s struggling phase, Tesla’s financial results for the Q1 of 2025 revealed a steep fall, with net profit tumbling down 71% to $409 million as opposed to $1.39 billion the year before.

The revenue for this quarter in 2025 also exhibited a drop of 9% to settle at $19.3 billion, noticeably off course from Wall Street’s forecasted $21.5 billion. The record marks the most underwhelming three-month performance for Tesla since their slump in 2022.

The waning success of Tesla was further illustrated by a dip in the company’s automotive revenue figures, which were reduced to $13.9 billion, reflecting a 20% decrease compared to $17.4 billion during the same phase last year.

Tesla’s vehicle deliveries for the first quarter of 2025 also faced a setback showing a 13% reduction year-over-year, tallying to 336,681 units. In reaction to this dilemmatic trend, Musk announced his renewed plan to work relentlessly within his companies to reaffirm his dedication to technological advancement and business achievement.

Musk expressed that it’s time for him to return to long working hours and reside at the workplace, inclusive of conference, server, and factory rooms. Musk stated, ‘I need to intensify focus on X/xAI and Tesla, not to mention the upcoming Starship launch, as we have vital technologies in the pipeline’

This renewed resolution from Musk comes on the back of a considerable worldwide disruption experienced by X (formerly Twitter). The service experienced an interruption on May 24, which lasted for numerous hours and affected tens of thousands of users globally, including those in the United States, Europe, India, and Australia.

Early records reveal that complaints regarding the outage peaked at over 25,800, with users expressing a myriad of issues, from difficulties logging in to complications in dispatching messages.

The root cause of the extensive outage was traced back to a glitch at a data center. Alarmingly, this facility had experienced a similar snag just a few days prior. These recurring issues have raised eyebrows in light of the platform’s infrastructure and overall dependability.
