Eric Swalwell’s Wife Spotted Without Wedding Ring as Rape Scandal Plagues Family
Embattled former congressman Eric Swalwell is facing renewed public scrutiny after his wife, Brittany Swalwell, was reportedly seen without her wedding ring near the couple’s Washington, D.C. residence while multiple investigations continue to surround the Democrat politician.
The sighting comes as Swalwell remains largely absent from public view following allegations of sexual assault and misconduct that dramatically derailed his political career earlier this year. Brittany Swalwell was reportedly seen alone near the couple’s $1.2 million home, fueling speculation about growing strain within the family amid the mounting controversy.
Swalwell’s last major public statement regarding the accusations came on April 10, when he released a social media video denying allegations of sexual assault while also apologizing to his wife for what he described as “mistakes in judgment” from his past.
“But those mistakes are between me and my wife, and to her I apologize deeply for putting her in this position,” Swalwell said at the time while insisting the more serious allegations against him were false.
The video was reportedly filmed at the Beverly Hills estate of billionaire businessman Steve Cloobeck, who later publicly distanced himself from Swalwell following the allegations. Cloobeck stated at the time that Swalwell had “busted the trust” and emphasized his support for women’s rights.
Cloobeck himself was later arrested on a felony charge tied to allegedly attempting to prevent or dissuade a witness from testifying in a separate matter, adding another layer of controversy surrounding individuals connected to the scandal.
Since the allegations surfaced, many of Swalwell’s public responses have reportedly been handled through attorneys, including high-profile lawyer Sara Azari. Reports indicate private investigators were hired to look into some of Swalwell’s accusers, while legal defenders have publicly challenged aspects of the allegations in television appearances.
Meanwhile, Brittany Swalwell was reportedly spotted late last month arriving at Los Cabos International Airport after a luxury vacation stay at a high-end Mexican resort often described as a destination for wealthy elites.
Swalwell continues facing reported criminal investigations in both Los Angeles and Manhattan connected to allegations involving multiple women. Additional reports have claimed the former congressman continued communicating with former staffers through Snapchat even after the allegations became public.
According to reporting cited by The New York Times, Swalwell allegedly contacted a former intern through the messaging app and questioned why screenshots had been taken of their previous conversations, adding further attention to the ongoing controversy surrounding the former lawmaker.
