Eric Trump Threatens Lawsuit Against Jen Psaki And MSNBC Over China Trip Claims
Eric Trump announced Friday that he plans to sue MSNBC and former Biden White House press secretary Jen Psaki after accusing them of spreading false claims about his business dealings during President Trump’s recent trip to China.
The dispute stems from comments Psaki made during a recent episode of her MSNBC program, where she suggested Eric Trump may have accompanied President Trump to Beijing in order to advance personal business interests tied to China.
Psaki referenced a Financial Times report concerning a company called Alt5 Sigma and claimed Eric Trump was on the company’s board while discussing a possible partnership involving Chinese semiconductor and AI infrastructure projects.
Eric Trump forcefully rejected the claim in a lengthy statement posted online, accusing Psaki and MSNBC of spreading “blatant lies.”
“Contrary to her monologue and blatant lies, I have NEVER been on the board of ALT5 — not now, not ever,” Eric Trump wrote. “Any person with basic access to Google and willing to open a company’s annual report or proxy statements would know this.”
He further stated that he has no financial ties to China and no involvement in any public-company merger negotiations connected to the report.
“I have zero business interests in China. No properties, no investments, nothing!” he wrote.
According to Eric Trump, his reason for joining the China trip was entirely personal and centered on supporting his father during a major diplomatic event.
“I joined this trip for one reason: as a loving son who adores my father and wouldn’t miss being by his side for this incredible moment,” he said.
While Psaki acknowledged during the segment that Eric Trump’s spokesperson had denied any business involvement in China, she went on to suggest there were still potential conflicts of interest because of his association with Alt5 Sigma.
However, SEC filings and the Financial Times report itself reportedly described Eric Trump as merely a “board observer,” not a board member, a distinction Trump’s allies argue completely undermines Psaki’s central accusation.
The controversy unfolded during President Trump’s high-profile diplomatic visit with Xi Jinping in Beijing. Eric Trump later noted that while the president participated in official meetings with Chinese leadership, he and Lara Trump spent time visiting the Great Wall of China.
Eric Trump ended his public statement with a warning directed at MSNBC and Psaki, teasing that additional legal action and developments would soon follow.
“More to come…” he wrote.
