Evidence Of Clinton Russia Hoax Was ‘Buried In Back Room’ At FBI: Kash Patel

FBI Director Kash Patel revealed Thursday that key documents tying Hillary Clinton to the fabricated Trump–Russia collusion narrative were discovered stashed away in a back room at FBI headquarters—evidence he says proves the Clinton campaign conspired to smear Donald Trump during the 2016 election.

“We uncovered this annex, along with thousands of other documents, buried in a back room at the FBI,” Patel posted on X. “It revealed a highly classified piece of the Durham report: evidence that the Clinton campaign plotted to frame President Trump and fabricate the Russia collusion hoax.”

The documents Patel referenced were part of a newly declassified annex from Special Counsel John Durham’s final report, which outlined how the Obama-era FBI largely ignored explosive intelligence pointing to Clinton’s role in orchestrating the hoax. According to the annex, Clinton approved a strategy to falsely tie Trump to Russian operatives in order to distract from her private email server scandal.

Senator Chuck Grassley (R-IA), chairman of the Senate Judiciary Committee, worked closely with Patel to declassify and release the annex to the public. “This political weaponization has caused critical damage to our institutions and is one of the biggest political scandals and cover-ups in American history,” Grassley said. “The new Trump administration has a tremendous responsibility to the American people to fix the damage done and do so with maximum speed and transparency.”

The annex indicates that the FBI received intelligence in 2016 that the Clinton campaign planned to disseminate disinformation through media channels using private cybersecurity contractors like CrowdStrike and ThreatConnect, while anticipating that the FBI would “put more oil into the fire” to amplify the claims. Despite this, Durham concluded the FBI “dismissed” the information as not credible without ever attempting to verify or investigate it.

Attorney General Pam Bondi has launched a Justice Department “strike force” tasked with evaluating the full scope of evidence behind the Obama administration’s handling of the Trump–Russia claims. The task force will also review the FBI’s internal communications and any role played by federal officials in concealing evidence.

Patel emphasized that the FBI’s actions—or lack thereof—played a direct role in undermining a sitting president. “The Russia hoax was a disgrace that President Trump and our country should’ve never been put through,” he wrote. “This should be a step toward justice. There will be more to come. Your FBI will keep being relentless to get the truth out.”

President Trump, who has long insisted that the Russia probe was a politically motivated hit job, is reportedly reviewing additional files from Durham’s investigation for declassification. The president has called the hoax “a criminal act of political sabotage” and said those responsible “must face justice.”

While former President Barack Obama and former top intelligence officials continue to deny any wrongdoing, pressure is mounting as more of the suppressed documents are brought to light. For Trump allies like Patel and Grassley, the focus now shifts to full transparency and accountability for what they call one of the most brazen abuses of power in modern American political history.
