JD Vance Celebrates 250 Years Of America And Calls On Nation To Face The Future Without Fear
Vice President JD Vance delivered a patriotic Fourth of July address in New York Harbor on Saturday, celebrating America’s 250th birthday and urging Americans to embrace the future with confidence and optimism.
Speaking aboard the USS Kearsarge during the massive Sail4th 250 celebration, Vance praised President Trump for reviving large-scale military and naval displays honoring the nation’s history and strength. The event featured warships, tall ships, military aircraft, and sailors from dozens of countries gathered in New York Harbor.
“Today we celebrate 250 years of America facing the future without fear,” Vance told the crowd as he reflected on the nation’s history of innovation, sacrifice, and perseverance. He credited generations of Americans with building what he described as the greatest nation in the history of the world.
The vice president also called for national unity, arguing that America’s greatest achievements have come when citizens worked together toward common goals rather than allowing political divisions to define the country.
Vance criticized what he described as “loud voices” that focus exclusively on America’s shortcomings while ignoring its accomplishments and ideals. He encouraged Americans to recognize both the nation’s imperfections and its achievements while remaining proud of the country’s history and values.
The speech came during one of the largest America 250 celebrations held anywhere in the country, with New York Harbor hosting dozens of naval vessels, military aircraft flyovers, and historic tall ships as part of the semiquincentennial festivities.
Vance concluded by calling on Americans to build the next chapter of the country’s story and ensure that future generations inherit an even stronger nation over the next 250 years.
