Senator Elizabeth Warren also voiced her concerns about President Trump’s decision to employ the military in Los Angeles. She flagged it as an overreach of presidential powers and a risky escalation of the situation. The idea of superseding the authority of California’s leaders through this deployment was a flashpoint for her, contributing to her view of the situation as power abuse.
Warren further likened the president’s deployment decision to actions typically observed in authoritarian nations. According to her, this needs to cease immediately. She underlined the necessity for Americans to retain their right to voice their opinions and partake in peaceful protests.
