Melania Trump Announces Two-Part Docuseries Set for Release This Year
First Lady Melania Trump announced Wednesday that a new two-part docuseries offering another look at her life and work will be released later this year, expanding her move into film and television following the theatrical documentary “Melania.”
The upcoming series will be released through Amazon MGM Studios and follows the documentary that arrived in theaters in January. That film focused on the 20 days leading up to President Trump’s second inauguration and featured behind-the-scenes footage of Melania preparing to return to the White House.
Melania served as an executive producer on the documentary through her production company, Muse Films. Amazon MGM acquired distribution rights to the project as part of a deal that also included a follow-up series.
The original documentary was directed by Brett Ratner and opened to more than $7 million at the domestic box office. That represented the strongest opening for a non-music documentary in roughly a decade, according to industry reporting.
The movie centered heavily on Melania herself, documenting her preparations for the inauguration, meetings with advisers and family moments. President Trump appeared less frequently, with the project primarily structured around the first lady’s perspective.
The new two-part series is expected to expand beyond the narrow time period covered by the film. It will provide additional footage and a broader look at Melania’s activities as first lady, although complete details about the individual episodes have not yet been released.
The project is part of Melania’s growing involvement in media production. She launched Muse Films in 2025, with the “Melania” documentary becoming the company’s first major production.
Amazon’s agreement for the original documentary attracted significant attention when it was announced. The company reportedly paid $40 million for licensing rights, while substantial additional money was spent marketing and distributing the film internationally.
The documentary generated sharply divided reactions after its release, with professional critics generally reviewing it negatively while audience reception was considerably more positive. Its theatrical performance nevertheless exceeded early industry projections.
The two-part docuseries will continue Melania’s effort to present her second tenure as first lady through her own production projects. A specific release date has not yet been announced, but the series is expected to arrive before the end of 2026.
