Obama’s Doctor Criticizes Biden’s Physician for Skipping Cognitive Test

Jeffrey Kuhlman

Dr. Jeffrey Kuhlman, who once served as President Obama’s White House physician, is raising red flags over President Joe Biden’s medical evaluations—specifically the lack of any cognitive testing. In a sharp critique, Kuhlman argued that fitness for office should mean more than just being physically healthy—it should also include mental and emotional capability.

“It shouldn’t just be about health,” Kuhlman said. “It should be about fitness. This is the most demanding job on the planet.”

Biden’s most recent medical report described him as a “healthy, active, robust 81-year-old male” and claimed there were no neurological concerns. But that report notably excluded any cognitive assessment, despite growing scrutiny over Biden’s memory and alertness.

That scrutiny intensified after Special Counsel Robert Hur concluded Biden showed “significantly limited” memory with “limited precision and recall” during interviews. Kuhlman noted that cognitive evaluations are not yet standard practice for presidents, but warned that omitting them leaves major questions unanswered.

“Sometimes those closest to the tree miss the forest,” he said—suggesting that Biden’s inner circle may be ignoring or downplaying signs of cognitive decline.

The concerns align with revelations from a new book, Original Sin, which alleges that Biden’s aides have been shielding the president from public scrutiny, avoiding unscripted moments, and steering clear of cognitive testing. Some White House staffers reportedly took extreme measures to manage his appearances and limit who could interact with him.

The issue has caught the attention of President Trump, who has ordered a federal investigation into whether Biden’s aides used tools like the autopen to forge his signature—an inquiry probing whether unauthorized staff may have exercised executive powers in Biden’s name.

While Dr. Kuhlman stopped short of accusing Biden’s doctor of intentional deception, he stressed the need for greater transparency moving forward.

“This is about more than hiding information,” he said. “It’s about whether the American people are getting the full truth about their Commander in Chief.”

As questions mount, so do calls for Biden to undergo formal cognitive testing—something his team has repeatedly avoided. The matter is quickly becoming a central issue heading into the 2024 election cycle.
