Pam Bondi Puts Two Liberal States ‘On Notice’ Over Trans Sports Policies

Pam Bondi

Attorney General Pam Bondi has delivered a clear and forceful warning to the liberal strongholds of California and Minnesota: reverse course on transgender sports policies or face the consequences under federal law.

Speaking at a press conference following the Justice Department’s lawsuit against Maine, Bondi made it clear that California and Minnesota are next in line for legal scrutiny. Both states have allowed biological males to compete in female sports and access women’s-only facilities—policies the Trump administration says violate Title IX protections for women and girls.

“These are the top two states that should be on notice,” Bondi said. “We’ve had repeated discussions urging compliance with the law, but they continue to ignore it. This isn’t political—it’s legal. And we are prepared to act.”

The warning comes as part of a broader crackdown by the Trump administration to restore fairness in women’s athletics and uphold the original intent of Title IX—a federal law designed to protect women from discrimination, not erase them from their own sports leagues.

Bondi pointed to the situation in Maine, where the DOJ has already filed suit over the state’s decision to house a violent male offender in a women’s prison. As a result, federal funding has been pulled from Maine’s Department of Corrections. Bondi made it clear that California and Minnesota could soon face similar financial consequences if they continue to push gender ideology over biological reality.

“This administration will not tolerate the erasure of women and girls,” Bondi stated. “If you receive federal dollars, you will follow federal law. That means protecting women’s sports, women’s spaces, and women’s safety.”

The Attorney General emphasized that the Department of Justice does not take lawsuits lightly but warned that continued defiance would leave the federal government no choice. “We don’t want to sue states. But we will—if that’s what it takes to protect women’s rights under the law.”

While the legacy media continues to frame these actions as “controversial,” polling shows that the overwhelming majority of Americans support maintaining fair competition and biological integrity in sports. Bondi’s firm stance echoes the sentiment of parents, coaches, and female athletes across the country who say their voices have been ignored in the rush to appease radical activists.

California and Minnesota, known for pushing far-left social agendas, are now on the edge of a major legal showdown—one that could determine the future of women’s sports nationwide.

With lawsuits in motion, funding at stake, and the administration holding firm, the message is loud and clear: the federal government is back to defending reality, and states that ignore the law will be held accountable.
