Pentagon Identifies Two U.S. Soldiers Killed In Iranian Attack

The Pentagon has identified the two U.S. Army soldiers killed during last week’s Iranian missile and drone attack on Muwaffaq Salti Air Base in Jordan as Pvt. Isabella Gonzales, 19, of Texas, and 1st Lt. Tyler James Feehan, 25, of Hawaii. Both were assigned to support operations in the region when the base came under attack.

Defense officials said the strike also left multiple service members wounded, while one American remains missing. The attack marked the first U.S. troop deaths directly caused by Iran since the current conflict began and prompted an intensified American military response across the Middle East.

According to the Pentagon, Gonzales and Feehan were serving at the Jordanian installation as part of the U.S. mission to counter regional threats. Military leaders praised both soldiers for their courage and dedication, offering condolences to their families and fellow service members.

The deaths raise the number of American service members killed during Operation Epic Fury to 17. A third U.S. service member also died over the weekend in Iraq while taking part in the controlled detonation of a downed Iranian drone.

In response to the attack, U.S. forces carried out another wave of strikes against Iranian military targets, extending a campaign that has now lasted nine consecutive nights. The operations have focused on missile launch sites, drone facilities, command centers, and other military infrastructure that officials say supports Iran’s attacks on American and allied forces.

President Trump has vowed that the United States will continue responding forcefully to attacks on American personnel while maintaining pressure on Iran’s military capabilities. Administration officials have also said they remain open to diplomacy if Iran changes course, but emphasized that protecting U.S. troops remains the nation’s top priority.
