President Trump Mocks Jill Biden Over Stroke Claim Following 2024 Debate

President Donald Trump blasted former first lady Jill Biden on Friday after she revealed she feared then-President Joe Biden was suffering a stroke during the pair’s disastrous 2024 presidential debate.

In a Truth Social post, President Trump ridiculed Jill Biden’s account from her forthcoming memoir, “View from the East Wing,” where she claimed she feared her husband was experiencing a serious medical emergency during the June 27, 2024 debate in Atlanta.

“She said that she thought he was having a ‘stroke,’ and various other really bad things, and yet never rushed onto the stage to help her troubled husband, as any good wife would do,” President Trump wrote.

“The only thing she failed to mention was how well I was doing prior to his near total collapse,” he added.

Jill Biden’s memoir reportedly describes her panic during the debate, claiming she wondered whether the then-president had been drugged or was suffering a medical event as he repeatedly froze, stumbled through answers, and appeared visibly disoriented on stage.

President Trump used the post to revisit one of the most politically devastating moments of the 2024 campaign cycle, which ultimately led to President Biden withdrawing from the race less than a month later.

“[D]id my strong performance in that debate cause him to plain and simple ‘choke,’ leading to his ignominious defeat, or were other reasons the cause?” President Trump wrote. “Nobody else knows the answer to that, BUT I DO!!!”

Following the debate, President Trump had aggressively criticized President Biden’s performance while dismissing explanations from the White House about exhaustion, illness, or debate preparation.

“He got the debate rules he wanted. He got the date that he wanted. He got the network that he wanted,” President Trump said at the time. “No amount of resting or rigging could help him defend his atrocious record.”

“Joe Biden’s age is not his problem,” he added during the 2024 campaign. “It’s his competence.”

Jill Biden’s memoir also reportedly details the tense aftermath of President Biden’s decision to leave the race on July 21, 2024.

According to excerpts, then-Vice President Kamala Harris pressed then-President Biden for an immediate endorsement after he informed her he would suspend his campaign.

“I want it sooner,” Harris reportedly told Biden after he suggested delaying the endorsement announcement until the following day.

The memoir’s timing has reportedly frustrated many Democrats as the party battles to regain control of Congress ahead of the November elections.

Meanwhile, former President Biden is currently fighting the Justice Department in court to block the release of audio recordings from his interview with former special counsel Robert Hur regarding classified documents found in his possession.

Hur ultimately declined to pursue charges, famously describing then-President Biden in his report as a “well-meaning, elderly man with a poor memory.”
