Rudy Giuliani Hospitalized After High-Speed Crash in New Hampshire
Former New York City Mayor Rudy Giuliani is recovering in a New Hampshire hospital after a serious car accident Saturday night left him with multiple injuries, including a fractured vertebrae.
According to his security chief Michael Ragusa, the 81-year-old was initially flagged down by a woman who had been the victim of a domestic violence incident. Giuliani stopped to help the woman, called 911, and remained on the scene until police arrived. Shortly after, while continuing his drive, Giuliani’s vehicle was rear-ended at high speed.
“He was struck from behind while driving on the highway,” Ragusa said. “This was not a targeted attack. We’re asking people to respect the mayor’s privacy and refrain from spreading unfounded conspiracy theories.”

Giuliani was rushed to a nearby trauma center, where he was treated for cuts, bruises, and a fractured vertebra. He also suffered injuries to his left arm and lower leg. Further testing is ongoing to assess the full extent of the damage.
Maria Ryan, Giuliani’s business partner and a registered nurse, is overseeing aspects of his care during recovery. Ragusa emphasized that despite the injuries, Giuliani is in strong spirits: “He’s a beast. He survived 9/11.”
Often referred to as “America’s Mayor,” Giuliani gained national recognition for his leadership during the aftermath of the September 11 attacks. He served as mayor of New York City from 1994 to 2001 and is widely credited with implementing crime-reduction policies that helped transform the city during the 1990s.
Giuliani remains hospitalized but is expected to recover.
