Trump Congratulates NBA Champion Knicks, Calls Playoff Run ‘Maybe the Greatest of All Time’

President Trump celebrated the New York Knicks’ historic NBA championship victory with a congratulatory message on Truth Social, praising the franchise’s remarkable postseason run and several of its star players.

“Congratulations to Jim Dolan and the New York Knicks!!!” Trump wrote in a post following New York’s first NBA title in more than five decades.

The president described the Knicks’ championship journey as one of the greatest playoff runs the league has ever witnessed.

“Maybe the greatest of all time,” Trump wrote of the team’s improbable march to the Larry O’Brien Trophy.

Trump also singled out several key contributors to the championship team, particularly Finals hero Jalen Brunson, whose spectacular performance helped deliver the franchise’s first title since 1973.

“Tonight, a superstar was born, his name is Jalen Brunson, and there are others, including Karl-Anthony Towns, OG Anunoby and, great patriot, Mitchell Robinson!” the president wrote.

Brunson capped off the magical season with a legendary Finals performance, further cementing his place among the greatest players in Knicks history and becoming the face of a franchise that ended one of the longest championship droughts in professional sports.

President Trump has shown an affinity for the Knicks throughout their postseason run and attended Game 3 at Madison Square Garden last Monday, joining thousands of fans who witnessed New York’s march toward basketball immortality.

The championship has sparked celebrations across New York City and among generations of Knicks fans who waited 53 years to see the franchise return to the top of the NBA.

With President Trump now adding his praise to the chorus of congratulations, the Knicks’ historic title run has received recognition from the highest levels of American politics, further underscoring the significance of one of the most memorable seasons in franchise history.
