Trump Critic Rep. Thomas Massie Marries Former Rand Paul Staffer, Hosts Raw Milk Wedding

Kentucky Congressman Thomas Massie tied the knot with former Rand Paul staffer Carolyn Grace Moffa last month, a little over a year after the death of his wife of 35 years, Rhonda Massie.

Massie, a libertarian Republican often at odds with President Trump, confirmed the October 19 ceremony took place in Pennsylvania, Moffa’s home state. Several high-profile allies were in attendance, including Senator Rand Paul, Rep. Jim Jordan, Rep. Warren Davidson, Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene, and Rep. Victoria Spartz.

And true to form, the wedding included a signature nod to Massie’s off-the-grid lifestyle: “Of course we served raw milk!” he posted Monday on X.

Massie’s first wife, Rhonda, died in June 2024. The cause of death was never made public. The congressman proposed to Moffa, 36, on the steps of the Library of Congress, where he says they had their first date.

“Carolyn Grace Moffa and I first met professionally over a decade ago when she worked for Senator Rand Paul,” Massie wrote. “As Senator Paul’s Ag policy staffer until 2016, Carolyn was a very early proponent and practitioner of Making America Healthy Again.”

He added that Moffa had visited his Kentucky farm years ago along with his late wife Rhonda. “Carolyn has not previously been married,” he noted.

The personal news comes just weeks after President Trump endorsed retired Navy SEAL Ed Gallrein to challenge Massie in the GOP primary, calling the congressman a “third-rate loser” and a roadblock to his America First agenda.

Massie has often drawn Trump’s ire for opposing military aid packages, railing against deficit spending, and voting against the president’s 2025 tax reform deal. He has also called for the release of the Epstein files and questioned U.S. involvement in foreign wars, including Trump’s Iran policy.

Responding to Trump’s handpicked challenger, Massie dismissed Gallrein as “someone willing to be a rubber stamp for globalist billionaires, endless debt, foreign aid, and forever wars.”

Now remarried and facing a high-profile primary challenge, Massie appears ready to keep pushing his libertarian brand of politics — raw milk and all.
