Trump Files Massive Lawsuit Against ‘Degenerate’ New York Times

President Donald Trump announced Monday that he has filed a $15 billion lawsuit against the New York Times, accusing the left-wing outlet of defamation, libel, and election interference tied to a series of stories and a book published before the 2024 election.

“Today, I have the Great Honor of bringing a $15 Billion Dollar Defamation and Libel Lawsuit against The New York Times, one of the worst and most degenerate newspapers in the History of our Country,” Trump wrote on Truth Social. “I view it as the single largest illegal Campaign contribution, EVER.”

The suit, filed in federal court in Florida, targets three New York Times articles and the book Lucky Loser: How Donald Trump Squandered His Father’s Fortune and Created the Illusion of Success, which Trump says were intended to malign him personally and sabotage his re-election bid.

The articles cited in the complaint include “The Star-Making Machine That Created ‘Donald Trump,’” “For Trump, a Lifetime of Scandals Heads Toward a Moment of Judgment,” and “As Election Nears, Kelly Warns Trump Would Rule Like a Dictator.” Trump’s legal team argues that these pieces were filled with “repugnant distortions and fabrications” and were deliberately crafted to smear him in the eyes of the public and the courts.

“The ‘Times’ has engaged in a decades-long method of lying about your Favorite President (ME!), my family, business, the America First Movement, MAGA, and our Nation as a whole,” Trump said.

The lawsuit not only names the New York Times and the authors of the articles, but also Penguin Random House, the publisher of Lucky Loser, claiming that all defendants acted with “malicious intent” and in coordination with the Democrat Party.

“The Book and Articles are part of a decades-long pattern by the New York Times of intentional and malicious defamation against President Trump,” the suit alleges. “Defendants simply ignored their breach of journalistic ethics because the Book and the Articles would further the goals of the New York Times and its backers in the Democrat Party.”

Trump also slammed the outlet’s unprecedented front-page endorsement of Kamala Harris in the run-up to the 2024 election, calling it a blatant campaign contribution masquerading as journalism.

“They’ve been allowed to freely lie, smear, and defame me for far too long, and that stops, NOW!” Trump declared.

This is not the first time Trump has taken on the media in court — and won. He has previously secured victories against ABC News and CBS/Paramount, and is pursuing an ongoing defamation suit against The Wall Street Journal over a false claim that he sent a birthday card to Jeffrey Epstein.

With this latest lawsuit, Trump is once again going on offense — not just against the corporate press, but against what he calls their coordinated campaign to distort reality and poison public perception for political gain.
