Tyler Robinson’s Parents, Trans Boyfriend Set To Testify As Defense Seeks Delay In Charlie Kirk Murder Case

New court filings reveal that prosecutors plan to call key witnesses, including family members and a roommate, in the case against Tyler Robinson, who is charged in the killing of Charlie Kirk.

According to the defense, the prosecution intends to present testimony from Robinson’s parents and his former roommate, identified as Lance Twiggs, during a preliminary hearing currently scheduled for May. The defense is now pushing to delay those proceedings, arguing they need more time to review a large volume of evidence.

In a motion filed Friday, attorneys said both sides met earlier this month to discuss discovery and the types of evidence expected to be introduced. Prosecutors reportedly plan to organize their case into several categories, including forensic reports, digital communications, and witness testimony.

The filing states that law enforcement witnesses will present DNA and ballistics findings, along with phone and social media data tied to the investigation. Prosecutors also plan to introduce testimony about the crime scene and related searches conducted by authorities.

Defense attorneys argued that the discovery process remains incomplete and highly complex, pointing to extensive digital evidence that they say will take weeks to fully review. They requested that the court either vacate or postpone the May hearing dates to allow adequate time to analyze the material.

Investigators have also focused on communications allegedly sent by Robinson after the incident. According to the filing, messages suggested he asked Twiggs to destroy potential evidence, while additional posts on online platforms appeared to include admissions tied to the case.

The preliminary hearing is currently set for mid-May, where a judge will determine whether enough evidence exists to move the case forward. The defense’s request to delay could push that timeline back as both sides continue preparing for what is expected to be a closely watched legal battle.
