‘Violent’ Agitator Fatally Shot After Allegedly Trying to Run Over ICE Agents in Minneapolis, DHS Confirms

A woman described by the Department of Homeland Security as a “violent agitator” was fatally shot by a federal immigration officer in Minneapolis on Wednesday after she allegedly attempted to ram her car into ICE agents during an immigration enforcement operation.

The incident unfolded amid growing unrest in the city, where anti-ICE demonstrators flooded the streets in a coordinated effort to obstruct federal immigration raids. According to DHS, the woman “weaponized her vehicle” and tried to kill agents by plowing into them.

An ICE officer, reportedly fearing for his life, fired what DHS referred to as “defensive shots.” The woman was struck and later died from her injuries. A federal law enforcement source confirmed that the woman was shot in the face.

Video from the scene shows agents ordering the woman to exit the vehicle. She instead backed up and then lurched forward before shots were fired through the windshield by an agent directly in her path.

While several agents sustained injuries during the encounter, DHS officials confirmed that all are expected to recover fully.

The department labeled the incident as “an act of domestic terrorism,” placing blame squarely on left-wing rhetoric and local sanctuary policies that have encouraged resistance to federal law enforcement.

“This is the direct consequence of constant attacks and demonization of our officers by sanctuary politicians,” DHS said in a statement. “Our personnel are facing a 1,300% increase in assaults and an 8,000% increase in death threats.”

Chaos continued to ripple through the area following the shooting, as demonstrators hurled snowballs at officers and attempted to physically block operations. Federal agents responded with crowd-control measures, including what appeared to be chemical agents.

Minneapolis Mayor Jacob Frey condemned the federal presence, calling for ICE to “leave the city immediately” and blaming the agency for the unrest. “The presence of federal immigration enforcement agents is causing chaos in our city,” Frey said.

The incident comes just days after the Trump administration deployed roughly 2,000 federal agents to Minnesota as part of a month-long crackdown on illegal immigration and welfare fraud linked to Somali-run operations. Wednesday’s fatal encounter appears to be the most serious escalation yet.

Federal officials have indicated that more enforcement activity is coming, and have not ruled out additional deployments to other sanctuary jurisdictions. For now, Minneapolis is once again at the center of a national showdown between federal law enforcement and far-left political leadership.
