White House Reacts To String Of Transgender Violence: ‘Additional Actions To Come’

President Donald Trump said Sunday that his administration is “very strongly” examining the wave of transgender-linked violence across the country, telling reporters aboard Air Force One that “something seems to be going on.”

The president spoke with the press on his return from Charlie Kirk’s memorial service at State Farm Stadium in Arizona. The event drew an estimated 90,000 attendees, including members of Trump’s administration who paid tribute to their fallen friend.

Reporters noted a series of recent violent crimes involving transgender-identifying individuals, including the Annunciation Catholic School shooting, the Covenant School tragedy, and the attempted assassination of Supreme Court Justice Brett Kavanaugh. Trump paused when asked about the pattern. “You know, we’re looking at that,” he said. “What’s the reason for it? Yeah, there seems to be something. But we’re looking at it very strongly. Something seems to be going on.”

Court filings obtained by The Daily Wire show that Nicholas Roske, who plotted to kill Justice Kavanaugh, identifies as a transgender woman and was described by his attorneys as mentally ill and suicidal. “It’s too bad,” Trump said, calling the situation “very sad.” He added, “We have to protect our Supreme Court justices. Justice Kavanaugh is a great guy, I mean, it’s horrible. He’s been through a lot with this. All of them have, in a way. Biden’s administration didn’t give them proper protection.”

At Monday’s White House press briefing, Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt echoed the president’s concern, telling The Daily Wire that transgender violence is “definitely something worth looking into.” She added, “I think anyone who denies that at this point is being willfully ignorant. And the administration is taking it seriously, all causes of violence and why these people would be driven to such evil and such hatred. And there are probably many answers to that question, but the administration is really focused on all of them.”

Leavitt said the FBI and Justice Department are handling individual investigations, but stressed that broader policy will come directly from the president’s team. “As for this overall violence and domestic terrorism that we’re seeing, the White House and the President’s policy team will be leading the charge,” she said. “And that really begins with designating Antifa as a domestic terrorist organization. And I can assure you there will be additional actions to come.”
