The White House is brushing off Elon Musk’s explosive claims about President Donald Trump’s alleged connections to Jeffrey Epstein, calling the remarks “an unfortunate episode” and dismissing them as part of a broader personal meltdown by the billionaire mogul.
Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt didn’t mince words, suggesting Musk’s outburst is tied more to his political frustrations than any genuine concern. “It’s clear Elon is upset that the ‘One Big Beautiful Bill’ didn’t cater to his wish list,” she said. “This isn’t about Epstein. It’s about Elon being disappointed that President Trump won’t bow to a billionaire’s demands.”
Musk recently took to social media to accuse Trump of being entangled in unreleased Epstein documents, a claim he offered without evidence. The post marked a sharp escalation in what has become a very public and very personal feud between the two once-allies. Musk has since gone on to suggest Trump should be impeached and floated the idea of forming a new political party.
The White House reminded the press that any past association between Trump and Epstein has long been public knowledge, and that there is zero evidence linking Trump to Epstein’s criminal activities. Officials also pointed to Musk’s own history of close cooperation with the Trump administration, including his central role in the now-disbanded Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE), calling Musk’s sudden turn “bizarre and disappointing.”
As the feud spills into public view, Republican leaders are urging cooler heads to prevail, wary of a high-profile clash between two of the most influential figures in the conservative movement. But for now, the rift only appears to be growing—underscoring the political volatility that can erupt when egos and power collide at the top.
