Why Turning Point USA Wants Comedy Central to Keep Airing the ‘South Park’ Episode That Mocked Charlie Kirk
Comedy Central is facing renewed pressure to pull a recent episode of South Park that lampooned Charlie Kirk — but those closest to the late conservative icon are saying: keep it up.
Andrew Kolvet, executive producer of The Charlie Kirk Show and one of Kirk’s closest friends, made clear this week that Kirk wanted to be parodied. In fact, he loved it.
Hey @paramountplus, as someone who can speak with some authority on this, Charlie loved that he was featured in South Park. He told me many times. He would want the episode back up.

Kirk Took It As A Badge of Honor
The episode in question, titled “Got a Nut,” aired on August 6 and featured South Park character Eric Cartman mimicking Kirk’s fiery debate style and signature mannerisms. Kirk himself responded to the episode at the time with good humor, posting, “Not bad, Cartman.”

He even laughed at how well the show’s animators captured small details — such as putting the microphone down and taking a sip of water between audience questions. “Eerily spot on,” he added.
Far from offended, Kirk released a short video praising the episode as a sign of success. “There’s going to be a lot said about this, but we need to have a good spirit about being made fun of,” Kirk said. “This is all a success, this is all a win. We, as conservatives, we have thick skin, not thin skin. And you can make fun of us, it doesn’t matter.”
A Movement Bigger Than Mockery
In his message, Kirk said the satire proved just how far the conservative youth movement had come. “The fact they’re mocking us means we matter,” he declared. “Until next time, I hope all of you all become master debaters for truth.”

Following Kirk’s assassination on September 10 at Utah Valley University, some viewers called on Comedy Central to take the episode down out of respect. But those closest to Kirk say that would go against everything he believed in.
“He wouldn’t want a tribute,” said one Turning Point staffer. “He’d want the fight to continue — even if it meant being roasted by South Park.”
In an age where many demand censorship over offense, Charlie Kirk’s own response serves as a reminder of the enduring strength of free speech, good humor, and taking pride in being part of the national conversation — even as the punchline.
