Charlie Kirk Assassin Allegedly Confessed Online Before Arrest: “It Was Me”

Charlie Kirk’s accused killer, 22-year-old Tyler Robinson, allegedly confessed to the assassination in a chilling online message just hours before he was arrested, according to a new report. The Washington Post obtained screenshots of a Discord message Robinson reportedly sent to about 30 people the night after the shooting, writing: “It was me at UVU yesterday. i’m sorry for all of this.”

Robinson continued, “Im surrendering through a sheriff friend in a few moments. thanks for all the good times and laughs, you’ve all been so amazing, thank you all for everything.”

The message was sent just two hours before Robinson was turned in to authorities by his own father, following a 33-hour manhunt sparked by the assassination of the 31-year-old Turning Point USA founder during an event at Utah Valley University.

Federal investigators are now expanding their probe to determine whether pro-trans or left-wing online communities had foreknowledge of the plot. Despite Discord claiming it found “no evidence” of premeditated violence on its platform, the suspect’s digital activity is now under intense federal scrutiny.

Robinson’s online behavior, radical affiliations, and relationship with a transgender roommate are all central to the case. According to officials, the suspect was deeply entrenched in far-left politics and internet meme subcultures, including “furries.” Utah Governor Spencer Cox said Robinson had been “deeply indoctrinated with leftist ideology,” while FBI Deputy Director Dan Bongino called it “an ideologically motivated attack.”

Inscriptions found on the rifle and ammunition used in the shooting point to a twisted ideology. One unspent shell casing was etched with, “Notices bulge OwO what’s this?” — a phrase tied to the “furry” subculture that fetishizes anthropomorphic animals. Others bore anti-Christian and anti-fascist markings, suggesting Robinson’s intent was steeped in extremist symbolism.

Robinson’s relationship with his live-in transgender partner has also drawn attention from investigators. A relative of the roommate, who is cooperating with the FBI, told Fox Digital that they believe the suspect was heavily influenced — and radicalized — by the partner and their shared online communities. “He hates conservatives and Christians,” the relative said. “I think Tyler got a whole lot worse in the year they have been dating.”

Robinson is currently being held without bail on charges of aggravated murder, obstruction of justice, and felony discharge of a firearm. His first court appearance is expected Tuesday.
