Trump Warns He’ll Resume Strikes If Iran Refuses To Make Deal

President Donald Trump said Thursday that the United States is prepared to resume military action against Iran if negotiations fail to produce a peace agreement.

“If they don’t want to make a deal, then I’ll finish it up militarily with the other 25% of the targets,” Trump told reporters in the Oval Office, signaling that additional strikes remain on the table.

The comments come as the conflict enters its eighth week, extending beyond the four-to-six-week timeframe Trump had initially predicted. The president defended that estimate, arguing that key objectives had already been achieved.

“I did say I thought it would take four to six weeks, and I was right, because at the end of six weeks, at the end of four weeks, their military was decimated,” he said.

Trump also suggested that uncertainty within Iran’s leadership is slowing negotiations, claiming it remains unclear who has the authority to finalize a deal on the Iranian side.

“It’ll end. I don’t think it’ll be very long,” he added. “They’re delaying it because we don’t know who to deal with.”

The remarks underscore the administration’s strategy of combining diplomatic pressure with the threat of continued military force as talks continue.
