WHCD Shooting Suspect Cole Allen ‘Thought He Was Rambo,’ Wanted President Trump Dead: Top DC Fed
Jeanine Pirro said the man accused of attacking the White House Correspondents’ Dinner believed he was “Rambo” and heavily armed himself in an attempt to assassinate President Donald Trump.
Speaking in a television interview, Pirro described 31-year-old Cole Allen as “armed to the teeth” when he stormed a security checkpoint at the Washington Hilton, where the annual event was being held. She emphasized that investigators believe the suspect’s actions, along with his writings, demonstrate clear intent.
“Clearly, the president is a target,” Pirro said, pointing to both the alleged manifesto and Allen’s movements leading up to the incident. She added that prosecutors are confident they can prove intent beyond a reasonable doubt in court.
Authorities say Allen carried a shotgun, handgun, and multiple knives when he entered the secured area above the ballroom. Officials also referenced photos he reportedly took of himself beforehand, which Pirro characterized as showing confidence and focus.
The suspect’s manifesto outlined plans to target administration officials, though it did not explicitly name President Trump. Still, investigators believe the timing of Allen’s planning, which began after learning of the president’s attendance, indicates who the intended target was.
Pirro also addressed questions surrounding how a Secret Service agent was injured during the incident. Early speculation suggested the possibility of friendly fire, but she stated investigators have determined the shot came from Allen’s weapon.
According to Pirro, forensic evidence and video footage show that a pellet from the suspect’s shotgun struck the agent’s ballistic vest. The agent suffered a minor injury but is expected to recover.
Allen, described by officials as highly educated with a background in engineering, is facing multiple federal charges, including attempting to assassinate the president, discharging a firearm during a crime of violence, and transporting weapons across state lines with intent to commit a felony. He has been arraigned but has not yet entered a plea.
