White House Doctor Declares President Trump In ‘Excellent Health’ After Annual Physical
President Donald Trump remains in “excellent health” and is fully capable of carrying out the duties of commander-in-chief, according to the official results of his annual physical released Friday evening by the White House physician.
Captain Sean Barbabella, the physician to the president, said President Trump continues to demonstrate “strong cardiac, pulmonary, neurological, and overall physical function” despite the demands of the presidency.
“President Trump remains in excellent health,” Barbabella wrote. “Cognitive and physical performance are excellent. He is fully fit to carry out all duties of the Commander-in-Chief and Head of State.”
President Trump underwent his annual medical examination at Walter Reed National Military Medical Center on May 26 and authorized the public release of the results.
According to the report, the president’s vision remains within normal limits, and examinations of his head, ears, nose, throat, lungs, and chest all appeared normal.
The report did note “scarring of the right ear consistent with prior gunshot injury” from the assassination attempt against President Trump in Butler, Pennsylvania during the 2024 campaign.
Doctors also found his cardiac function to be normal, with an AI-enhanced electrocardiogram estimating his cardiac age at approximately 14 years younger than his actual age of 79.
“His demanding daily schedule, including multiple high-level meetings, public engagements, and regular physical activity, continues to support his overall well-being,” Barbabella stated.
The physician reported that President Trump still experiences slight swelling in his lower legs from chronic venous insufficiency, though the condition has reportedly improved since last year.
Neurological testing also showed no abnormalities.
“His neurological examination demonstrated normal mental status, intact cranial nerves, normal motor strength, sensation, reflexes, gait, and balance,” the report stated.
President Trump also scored a perfect 30 out of 30 on his cognitive assessment.
The report addressed the bruising frequently seen on the president’s hands in recent years, attributing it to “minor soft tissue irritation related to frequent handshaking in the setting of aspirin use for cardiovascular prevention.”
Barbabella described the bruising as a “common and benign effect of aspirin therapy.”
The examination additionally found no concerning dermatological issues.
“No suspicious lesions or concerning growths identified,” the physician wrote.
President Trump previously underwent a physical examination in October 2025, when Barbabella similarly described him as being in “exceptional health.” At that time, the president also received both a flu shot and a COVID booster vaccine.
